Yes. We think there are plenty of great uses for our system outside of gaming including 3D data visualization, displaying and working with 3D models, visualization for architecture, engineering and construction, medical applications, educational content, and so much more. Our initial focus, however, is on bringing amazing games to life for players with Tilt Five.

Every Tilt Five kit purchased is a developer kit, and we encourage interested parties to try out their ideas with the glasses and one of many 3D development platforms such as Unity3D and Unreal Engine. Godot game engine support coming soon!

Our USB-C cable uses standard USB 3.0 data, and does not pass DVI/DisplayPort data.

Note that the Tilt Five® glasses must use a USB 3.0 or 3.1 – aka “SuperSpeed” – port. On your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC, these ports are usually indicated by an SS icon.

Not necessarily. Many of the multiplayer games that work with Tilt Five are already enabled for playing with others, whether they are on other PCs and/or mobile Android devices. Using Tilt Five glasses is optional to others, but why not convince friends & opponents to try the glasses so they can experience the magic, too!?

Not unless you want to! What is great about Tilt Five's SDK is that it lets you integrate a Tilt Five mode into an existing game. Developers can enhance their games by adding a Tilt Five stereoscopic presentation of their game through the Tilt Five glasses (handled by the SDK), giving some consideration to how the user interface will be presented in world-space. Then, incorporating the Tilt Five Wand for 6-degrees-of-freedom control of your scenes further enhances the immersion! After you've completed the integration (it's not a port – it's sup-port!) you can update your experience wherever you currently distribute it (Steam, itch.io, etc.).

Not currently. We’re looking at doing auto detection and some other solutions. We’re still exploring the best way to support this feature.

You will need to use a USB 3.0 or faster – aka “SuperSpeed USB” – port.  On your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC, these ports are usually indicated by the SuperSpeed USB Trident icons.  To view these icons please visit the USB-IF Marks Requirement Chart. The Tilt Five® glasses come with a USB cable that connects to modern USB-C ports on your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC and most Android devices. If your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC has the more-common USB-A port, then use the C-to-A adapter included with your Tilt Five® kit.

3D games with top down views work particularly well. We expect game developers to experiment with innovative designs, gameplay styles, and unique in-game cameras that make for a super fun experience on the system.

With our 1.3 driver update one Windows10 PC can support multiple Tilt Five Glasses. Depending on how many USB-C and USB-A ports you have on your PC, you may need a powered hub to provide enough power and data bandwidth to run more than two Tilt Five Glasses.

It is our goal to not allow a newer SDK version to lock you out of playing older games. Our goal is not to be restrictive (there will always be some limitations)!

Not yet. It makes sense for us to add support for OpenXR at some point. First, we will get a better understanding of its scope of usage among our developer audiences. Want to weigh in? Get in touch with us about your OpenXR needs.

Yes. Our glasses fit over your prescription glasses. A variety of swappable nose pieces for a comfort fit will also be available in the future.

You can buy and/or download games and apps for your Tilt Five™ system from your favorite online games stores, such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and Google Play. Some are free to download!

We have catalogued all of the available and upcoming games here on the Tilt Five website. Keep coming back as more games are added every month.

Our SDK exposes C APIs for native code on all supported host platforms. We also provide plug-ins for developers using Unity 2018.4 LTS +, Unreal Engine 4, and Godot to develop games.

No. The wand is best for providing tracked interactions. If your application does not require 6DoF tracking for input, then we encourage you to consider using a standard keyboard, mouse, gamepad, or mobile device for input.

No special lighting needed! Our glasses work in most lighting conditions (though we do not recommend using the glasses in direct sunlight).

No. Tilt Five® is specifically designed for tabletop experiences using the Tilt Five™ custom glasses and gameboard, which becomes your window into an immersive AR world.

Our glasses offer tabletop augmented reality. Whereas VR isolates your view from the world to provide purely virtual experiences, our glasses project “holograms” out into the world and onto your tabletop. You’re still able to see the physical world around you, so when you reach for that pizza or drink in the middle of playing, you won’t make a huge mess on your table.

Currently you can only buy glasses as part of a kit, which comes with glasses, wand controller, and gameboard.

We support Windows 11 and Windows 10 PCs. Android device support is coming this fall. We hope to release macOS support in 2024.

These are Tilt Five system recommendations, but individual games may have additional requirements.  To determine if a particular game will work well on your system, check the game's website for recommendations.

Multiplayer for Tilt Five is almost identical to how multiplayer works on PC and Android games. If you launch your Tilt Five game on Steam or from the Google Play store, the game will get you connected and playing in no time. 

For game developers, multiplayer is supported at the host platform level. Our software development kit (SDK) provides access to player and network data, enabling you to create shared experiences.

If your computer or Android phone is already connected to the Internet via WiFi, you are all set! Tilt Five’s glasses are a display device and do not require any additional networking themselves.

If you are using a Windows PC, you can stream the games’ window directly from your desktop using MixCast software, but the video image will not appear stereoscopic to viewers on streaming services like Twitch.

We recommend a soft cloth and window cleaner to gently clean your gameboard surface.

No. Our glasses are a USB 3.0 peripheral that rely on a PC or mobile device to act as the host platform to perform the application's processing (compute, graphics, networking, etc.) needs. Our glasses use those outputs to present the holographic display on the gameboard.

We support Windows 11 and Windows 10 PCs with USB 3.0 (or faster) ports. Support for select Android devices with a USB-C 3.0 or higher port is coming, and we have published Linux drivers. We hope to release macOS support in the future.

No. Our glasses are specifically designed for tabletop experiences.
