When it comes to education, play is important!
For almost 30 years SmartGames has been developing inspirational and educational toys that encourage children to learn through play. In addition to traditional toys, the award-winning company has ventured into the tech space.
SmartGames understands the potential of digital games in the classroom (and at home). Two years ago, the company launched PlayRoom–a selection of online puzzle games that train problem-solving, logic reasoning, memory, and computational thinking.
Teachers and educators were already fans of the physical toys, and the introduction of the digital tools was greeted with much enthusiasm.
And now they’ve decided to go holographic!
The SmartGames team initially tasked two interns to explore the Tilt Five system and soon discovered the potential of the platform.
“The process for building for Tilt Five was seamless. We were impressed that we could rapidly prototype and quickly explore different game ideas and mechanics. In our first week of developing for Tilt Five we produced a handful of playable demos! Also the Integration with MixCast was straightforward and really helped us to demonstrate our Tilt Five games at Educational Fairs.” - Wouter Caledries, SmartGames
In May, SmartGames introduced attendees of the OMG Festival to two Augmented Reality games using the Tilt Five system. With no game pieces to lose and an exciting new way to immerse students in the curriculum, the Tilt Five system had serious game fans excited!
The OMG Festival and SmartGames was featured on FOCUS WTV in the Netherlands. Check out the clip here.
